The transformation challenge started!

2015 is going to be a big transformative and competitive year. I can feel it. Change is happening.

So far I was training 2-3 times a week randomly without any plan, incorperating the Martial Arts Capoeira twice per week at college.  About 3 weeks ago, on Monday January 5 I started training for a goal to reduce some bodyfat and to get a six-pack or at least some abs, improve endurance, enhance appearance and I want to tone my core as well for specific modeling goals. As I am studying Sports and Fitness Coaching, I designed a 8 week training program a few months ago as part of a college assignment. So its a good way to test it this year. Also I am combining it with a body transformation challenge of 12 weeks from bodybuilding.com, where great cash prizes are up for grabs, 200k in total! I knew that is the right motivation to take my fitness, training and diet to a next level of more discipline. My transformation cannot be that big as I am already at a healthy body weight, however I am far away from six pack abs and aiming to tone up. The best is that some friends and flatmates joined the competition and we can push each other and motivate each other, as well as having a little fun team competition to stay on track. Yey! We took embarrassing before pictures, but I will post them after the challenge, not just yet!
I decided to blog a bit about it, see it as a training diary. So far my schedule was so packed with training and work, I did not end up writing yet. Now I just wanna start and work on it over time, lets see where it will improve to.
The motivation level was very high in particular in the very first week and I pushed myself to the limits already a lot, but actually felt great after training. From week 2 onwards the motivation has dropped already a bit, be it the sore muscles, not to sure? For about 2 days I was not feeling very well, which was very likely due to the reason that I swapped 2 shifts at work and needed to work the overnight shift from 11pm till 7am and so my sleep pattern was out of control and that does not go well together with extensive training. :-( But that is life, its never gonna be perfect I suppose. So I was only for 20 minutes on the treadmill for an interval cardio session, but I was literally melting and was more exhausted than usual. The next day I felt even worse after not sleeping at night and probably it would be better to skip the training, but then I felt like I am giving up, so I was a good girl and pushed myself and sticked to my training plan, as I believe there may be always excuses. I pushed through and actually even felt slightly better after it. :-) Here is pic after the workout, T shirt was all wet of lots of sweat, so tired but then well deserved rest and bedtime finally at night time, no more overnight shifts for me!

More about week 3 in the next post. Also not feeling like writing much more, planning on sharing some nutrition and training tips soon. Stay tuned!
